Last month i joined All State Solution Private Ltd.(a US based insurance company ) as Senior Technical Consultant -Unix. My induction was going on and in one of the break time the trainer asked me --"Vikash are you from Bihar." I told--"Yes". Then she told about the incident of mass cheating which happened in Board Exams in Bihar. By hearing her it seems that she made a perception that this is happening in Bihar all the time and all students and guardians are same like this. And she is not alone, people all over the country having the same perception about Biharis.
Who is responsible behind this prejudice? We the people of Bihar. Bihar is the state which gives IITians and IIM candidates more than anywhere in India. We have more IAS and IPS, more than from anywhere. So why we are doing this all to bring shame and embarrassment to all the people of Bihar. We are from the land of Aryabhatta and Chankaya.
The students and their parents which involved in this mass cheating need to know the simple fact that there is no shorter path of success ---"Karmyog ki bhatti me sab ko jalna parta h". It is as simple and as difficult as that. Though government rusticated lots of candidate and many examination center were banned after this incident. But the Education department needs to work on the solution, be pro-active rather than reactive is the need of hour.
First of the thing we need to see that the students which get involve in these kind of activities are not prepared for the exam. They could not complete the syllabus may be not a single chapter. We need to find the reason behind this. We can ponder on these points:
Every boards conduct pre-tests before the final board exam. If the student is having poor performance continually in these pre-tests, teachers need to focus on these students more. School authority should arrange special classes for these students. Parents should be informed about their progress and make them aware that their child needs special attention in school as well as in home.
School authority need to make sure that all the students having healthy percentage rate in class. If someone is having lackluster attendance, their parents should be called and they should be informed about the same.
We need to find the root cause of the issues and i hope above few points certainly will help in eradicating these issues in the future.
Bihar is having 6 crores of people below the age of 25. It is the land of intellectuals, mathematicians, great philosophers, its the land of Buddha. Please do not bring shame to this great land by your clever and cheep deeds. Awake o Biharis, the nation needs you more than ever.

- Did they get good teachers?
- How was their performance in the pre-tests?
- What was their attendance percentage in the class?
